Know your Prophet Centre's vision is to establish a community of spiritual seekers to know the Divine and His beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)
We aim to do this with a focus on the following pillars:
Sharing the Life & Teachings of Prophet Muhammad PBUH
Transmitting Knowledge through True Scholars and Shaykhs
Spiritual Development through prayer and meditation (Dhikr)
Strengthening Community and Service
Interfaith outreach and dialogue
Supporting new Muslims and helping them learn their new faith.
Why is it Important to Know Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)?
Sayyidina Ali (R) said:
"Whoever sees Prophet for the first time is awe struck, and whoever gets to know him, falls in love with him"
According to multiple Sahih Hadiths, prophet Muhammad (PBUH) equated his love in the hearts of Muslims to Iman (faith). In order to have real faith, you must love sayyidna Muhammad (PBUH); and in order to love him, you must get to know him! That is the reason why the sole purpose of Know Your Prophet Centre, is to shed the light on the greatest Human being to ever walk this earth!
"The Story of how the "Know Your Prophet Centre" came about, is the story of my spiritual journey to find taste and meaning in my life...
...I was born in Lebanon as a Muslim, and I practiced my faith as everyone else did, but I still felt an emptiness inside me. I also noticed that the transformative power of real faith was not present amongst the practicing Muslims in my town. We practiced our faith, but it did not make us better human beings. I knew people who were morally corrupt, while at the same time they considered themselves to be very religious Muslims.
In my search for meaning and taste, I came across the Sufi Muslims, and I was lucky to have met one of the great Sufi Masters of our time, Mawlana shaykh Nazim Al-Haqqani (Q). Through following this great soul, I tasted the sweetness of faith for the first time. Shaykh Nazim was a staunch lover and follower of Sayyidina Muhammad (PBUH). He followed his way outwardly and inwardly. Shaykh Nazim taught me that spirituality and love are intertwined, you can not find one without the other., and that for people to have real transformative faith, it is not enough to perform the outer obligations of Islam, they have to fall in love with the beloved of Allah, Sayyidina Muhammad (PBUH), and they have to take him as their role model.
He once said, "The most beneficial knowledge in today's world is to teach people about their Prophet (PBUH)". I truly believe in those words, because I have witnessed the effects of knowing, loving, and following sayyidna Muhammad in my own life.
Through this project, we hope to become the means for people to have a fulfilling spiritual life. That is what we wish to accomplish with Know Your Prophet Centre."

Shaykh Nazim was born in Larnaca, Cyprus, on the 23rd of April 1922, a Sunday, the 26th of Sha'ban, 1340 H. His lineage from his father’s side traces its roots to Sayiddina `Abdul Qadir Jilani, founder of the Qadiri Order. Shaykh Muhammad Adil

Shaykh Muhammad Mehmet Adil was born on 29 March 1957 in Damascus, Syria. He is the oldest son of Shaykh Nazim Adil and of Hajja Amina Adil Sultan Hanim. As Mawlana Shaykh Nazim’s successor, Shaykh Muhammad is now the 41st Shaykh of the Golden Chain of the Naqshbandiyya Aliyya Tariqa.
Shaykh Muhammed Adil spent his youth in Syria’s capital, Damascus, under the guidance of both Shaykh Abdullah Fa’iz ad-Daghestani (QS) and Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil, training in the manner and discipline of the Naqshbandi Tariqa. Our Founder
Shaykh Ali Elsayed is the appointed representative of Shaykh Muhammad Adil in the United States and Canada, and he is also a member of the Canadian Council of Imams. He teaches Islamic spirituality on behalf of his shaykh, and conducts weekly dhikr circles. Shaykh Ali is also an author, an accomplished nasheed artist, vocalist, and writer of devotional poetry - having produced multiple Arabic and English Nasheed Albums.
Shaykh Ali was born and raised in Lebanon. He moved to the US in the early nineties where he met his spiritual master in the Sufi Naqshbandi path, Shaykh Nazim Adil, and his deputy in North America, Shaykh Hisham Kabbani. He spent over 20 years under the tutelage of such great teachers in Tasawuff (Sufism). For over 20 years Shaykh Ali accompanied them on their travels all over the world, spreading the teachings of the classical Islam of Ahle Sunnah wal Jama'ah, leading and conducting dhikr circles all over the world and singing the love poetry of Sufism.
Shaykh Ali is also an author of Islamic poetry, Islamic children's books and has translated Mawlid Ad-Daybaee and Dala’il Al-khayrat from Arabic into English. During his travels, shaykh Ali Elsayed took part in many interfaith gatherings and meetings. He wrote nasheed which highlights what is common between the monotheistic faith, and the common truths all human beings share.
Shaykh Ali currently resides in Toronto, Canada, and has been appointed to travel and spread the teachings of Islamic spirituality, love, and tolerance in the US and Canada.
Sayyidina Muhammad is Allah’s Gift of Mercy to His Creation.
“Verily (oh Muhammad) we have only sent you as Mercy to creations” - Holy Quran
Sayyidna Muhammad is Allah’s gift of Mercy to His creation. Each human being is able to benefit from this gift according to their belief and understanding of the reality and role of Sayyidna Muhammad (PBUH) in creation. Allah said in Holy Quran: “Is it that they did not know their messenger, so they denied him”. This verse was revealed about the unbelievers of Mecca who did not accept Sayyidna Muhammad (PBUH). Not knowing Sayyidna Muhammad will lead to denying him.
Today, Muslims do not deny Sayyidna Muhammad as the messenger of Allah, but they deny the fact that this role is not limited to His life in the physical world. They also deny his eternal role as the Mercy to mankind, as the Teacher of goodness to humanity, as the Intercessor for humanity, as the means of attaining faith and enlightenment in this world.
They deny his role and status because they no longer know their Prophet. Unfortunately, a lot of Muslims today believe that the role of sayyidna Muhammad is no more than that of a postman who delivered a book (The Holy Quran). They overlook the fact that the only heart who could have received the power and reality of the Holy Quran, was that of their Prophet. They also overlook the fact that He was the walking Quran.
The mission of Know Your Prophet Centre is to help people know, love and honor and connect with their Messenger, so they can take their full share of Divine mercy. Once that mercy and love permeate their beings, they can become guides and examples of what it means to be a true human being. Only then can we call people to the wonderful religion of love and mercy.
Sayyidina Muhammad is No Ordinary Figure. He is the Role Model for Humanity.
“Verily you have in the Messenger of Allah the best example and role model for you” - Holy Quran
Human beings are a special creation. For a person to reach his full potential of becoming a true human being, it requires lots of care, love, discipline, and education. The easiest way to inspire people to strive to be better is to provide for them role models who possess the things you want them to achieve. Humanity is molded with the love of perfection. The more something is perfect, the easier it is to love. You see children imitating their role models in sports, in the arts, in movies. The best soccer or football players are loved and adored by millions because as humans we love and admire perfection.
People, in general, may possess bits and pieces of perfection. A great movie actor may be near perfect with their acting skills but may be very imperfect with his or her manners. The only human being who is perfect in every way possible is Sayyidna Muhammad (PBUH). Allah said of him in the Quran: “Verily (Oh Muhammad) you possess a Magnificent Character”. This is no ordinary compliment. This compliment is coming from the One who created Sayyidna Muhammad (PBUH).
The companions became guides and stars for humanity because they accompanied, loved and emulated the perfect human being.
This power of transforming human beings from people who are entangled with the web of egoism and animalistic desires, to people of excellent character, still exist today. The alchemist stone which turns iron into gold is none-other than Sayyidna Muhammad (PBUH). That is why it is important for people to know about him and love him.
Shaytan and the forces of evil understand the importance of people seeing Sayyidna Muhammad as the ultimate role model for humanity. That is why they are trying their best to make sure people do not believe this truth. In the last 100 years, Muslims have been subjected to an orchestrated effort to separate the ummah from their messenger and to make us think he is just an ordinary man who is now dead and can no longer benefit anyone. Unfortunately, these forces of evil have succeeded to a certain extent. A lot of our problems today can be traced back to this misinformation and misunderstanding. That is why, now more than ever, we need people and organizations dedicated to reviving the special place sayyidina Muhammad holds in the hearts and lives of Muslims.
