CHORUS: J-itu wa sha’ra daamee, taallabij yal qawaafee
Kayfa bamdaH MuHammad, kayfa bawsaf maqaamah
Bayna Rabbahu wa baynah, sirra mudmar wa khaafee
Bayna katfahu wa katfah, yal qawaafee ‘alaama

I am presenting this poem but it is so inadequate, however I am challenging myself in rhyme
How can I praise Muhammad, how can I describe his station?
Between him and his Lord is a hidden, concealed secret
And between his shoulders is the seal of prophecy

-Ad’ajil ‘ayna seedee, abyadal khaddi saafee
Yashraqal kawna kallah, lattafat bib tasaamah
KammalaLlaah safaatah, warzaqah Husana waafee
Fi jamaalah jalaalu, wa fi jalaalah wa saamah

My master’s eyes were so bright, and his cheeks were white, clear and pure
The whole universe became illuminated by the turning of his face and smile
Allah perfected his attributes, and gave him complete beauty
In his beauty there is majesty, and in this majesty utter grace

Yabtadee bil maHabbah, kalla mallah yajaafee
Yansharal deenar raHmah, wa’tadaalu wal karaamah
Fi hajeeral saHaaree, saara yatvil fiyaafeee
Rabba hillee ya Habbah, zhallahi bil ghamaamah

He always began with love, and was never harsh
He spread the religion in a merciful way, with moderation and nobility
In the hot midday desert sun, he went to the furthest deserted places
Allah loved him and would shade him with clouds

-In baqat lee Hayaatee, bas-alaLlaah ‘awaafee
Wa -indanal mawta minnee, bas-alaLlaah salaamah
Munyatee bas -azoorah, wa ahtadee bi’tikaafee
Fil Haram ‘inda seedee, leenaa yawmil qiyaamah

If my life remains, I will ask Allah for well-being
And if death comes close to me, I will ask Allah for safety
My only wish is to visit him, and to be correctly guided by my seclusion (with him)
In the blessed sanctity (Madinah) with my master, who is gentle on the Day of Judgment

The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing. - (Qur'an, 2:261)
